Privacy Policy

Hogevor Archive (“we,” “us,” or “the site”) is a non-commercial archive of Christian songs, the Bible, magazines, and other spiritual materials created for our church community. We care about your privacy and keep things simple. This page explains what we collect and how we handle it.
Browsing without an account
You do not need an account to use the site. Reading songs, the Bible, the Bari Lur magazine, poems and other materials all work without giving us any personal information.
- Your preferences (such as font size, light/dark or reading theme, and transliteration choice) are stored locally in your own browser on your device.
- If you are not signed in, the items you save (such as favorite songs, Bible highlights, and bookmarks) are also kept only in your browser and are not sent to us.
Accounts (optional)
You can create a free account with an email address and a password so your saved items follow you across devices. Your password is stored securely (hashed) by our platform — we never see it in plain text — and we offer an email-based password reset. You may also set an optional display name.
What we store for signed-in members
When you are signed in, the items below are saved on our servers and synced to your account so they are available on any device you sign in from:
- Your favorite songs and saved verses.
- Your Bible highlights, bookmarks, and verse notes.
- Your sermon notes.
- Your reading plans and recent reading history.
- Which Bible versions you have turned on.
This content belongs to you. You can add, change, or remove it at any time from within the app, and it is used only to provide these features to you.
Other information
- Basic server logs (such as page requests and error information) may be recorded by our hosting provider to keep the site secure and fast. These are not used to personally identify you.
- Material you send us — if you submit content (songs, recordings, testimonies, etc.) or email us, we receive the information and files you choose to provide.
- Anonymous live activity — so we can see how many people are reading right now and what is being searched for, the site records the page being viewed and the search words typed, together with a random id that is created fresh for each browser tab and thrown away when you close it. This is not linked to your account, your name, your email, or your IP address, and it is automatically deleted after a few hours. It tells us that someone searched for a word — never who.
How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the site.
- To provide your account and sync your saved items across your devices.
- To review, and where appropriate publish, material you submit.
- We never sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Cookies & tracking
We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in to your account. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Service providers
The site runs on trusted infrastructure — website hosting, a database, and file storage — used only to operate the archive and, if you sign in, to hold your account data. These providers process data solely to deliver the site to you.
Children
The site is family-friendly and intended for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your submissions
Please only submit material you have the right to share, and do not include other people’s private or personal information without their consent.
Deleting your account or data
You can ask us to delete your account and the data linked to it at any time. Email us at hogevorarchive@gmail.com and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
